Welcome to Creative Make~Up

Welcome to my new makeup blog! :)

I have been thinking about doing something like this for a while but was a bit dubious, as I've never written a blog before and I'm told I'm not the most "graceful" of writers... I'm sure I'll be told soon enough;-D

As you can see from my profile I am freelance makeup artist and I've been working in this industry for over 10 years. I've also taught makeup artistry to inspiring makeup artists and enthusiasts for just as long.... So surely I should be able to offer you some tips and advice? ; )

My aim here is to give you my genuine opinion, tips & tricks on anything to do with makeup, beauty and all things creative!
We're stuck in the depths of a recession and products seem to be getting more & more gimmicky by the week to make appealing to people who don’t know any better. I’ll fill you in on the “must haves” and the “don’t bother” for your makeup bag.... Websites that I can recommend...  let you know about anything interesting that I’m working on or what happening in the industry... and ... I MIGHT do a video (no matter how cringyJ) of some makeup demos?
So hopefully I can bring you something that's helpful, insightful, inspirational and creative!
Let’s see what happens... :)

So let me fill you in on resent events...

Recently I had an appearance on TV3's Ireland Am on behalf of The De Vere Academy. My objective was to recreate the look of Betty Draper from "Mad Men". All very simple, you might think... Well, not so! :)  I was only given 4 minutes to do one side of the face... that's foundation, blusher, powder, eyebrows, eyeliner (with a shaky hand) , lips and a touch of contouring.. All while trying to talk about The De Vere Academy, explain to the interviewer what I was doing and also trying to remember my own name :)

Chat to you again soon:)
